What is an S-Lift and How Does it Compare to a Mini Facelift?
An S-Lift rejuvenates the jowl and submental area. The S-Lift gets its name from the incisions the surgeon makes along the hairline and inside the ear. The S in S-Lift also stands for “short incision.” A small amount of skin is lifted but this surgery has its limitations because not much can be removed. An S-Lift might be ideal for someone who is under the age of forty-five, is experiencing slight laxity of the jawline, and has slight skin laxity on the upper face. You might not be a good S-Lift candidate if you have more pronounced jowls and skin laxity on the neck. Sometimes this term is used interchangeably with mini facelift as they are essentially the same. An S-Lift is a type of mini-facelift that is less invasive than a full facelift.
Your Consultation for an S-Lift
When you meet with us for an in-person consultation to discuss an S-Lift, this will provide the perfect opportunity for us to address any of your questions or concerns, or to provide general information. Here are some of the most common facelift-related questions that patients who are considering an S-Lift or another facial rejuvenation or neck surgery might have:
- Should you get face surgery or will a facelift without surgery with BOTOX®, fillers, and skin rejuvenation treatments provide the same results?
- Is a chin lift the same as a neck lift?
- Is it better to get a facelift or neck lift near me in my local area instead of getting plastic surgery abroad?
- What usually happens before and after neck lift or facelift surgery?
- How does the cost of a mini facelift compare to the cost of a full facelift?
- Is a jawline lift – also referred to as a lower facelift, jowl lift, or ponytail facelift – the best option for me, or would a cheek lift or mid-face lift be better?
- What happens during the facelift procedure?
- Which techniques are used for deep plane face lifting?
- How do you have a smooth facelift or neck lift recovery?
- Which face operation should I get?
- Is it possible to achieve natural facelift results?
Which Procedures Complement an S-Lift?
Cosmetic Surgery Institute provides many types of surgical and non-surgical options to help patients achieve a more youthful and revitalized appearance. In addition to facelifts and other surgical procedures, injectables and thread lifts are also available and, in many cases, they may complement facelifts.
BOTOX® – an injectable containing botulinum toxin type A as its active ingredient – works by softening expression wrinkles on the upper areas of the face such as frown lines. It can reduce the types of wrinkles that a facelift won’t be effective for, enhancing the appearance of the upper face.
Dermal fillers add volume and slight lift to reduce static wrinkles that remain even when your face is at rest or reshape and refine certain facial features. Nonsurgical PDO threads are another non-surgical option. They can help with lifting and tightening sagging skin on the lower face.
